Independent Supportive Living ProgramMaintaining a household and life skills are offered to people in the support homes. Support is provided on a continuum of desire and need, with the goal of assisting people to enhance their abilities towards independence. People gain awareness of responsibilities to caring for their own home, with the utmost respect given to their right to make their own choices and dignity of risk. |

People typically have several other roommates who share in the responsibilities and offer companionship. Each household also has the opportunity to decorate their house and make it their home. Each home is provided with a vehicle to facilitate community inclusion and recreational activities. IHAC has a variety of support homes that are both co-ed or gender specific located in an urban or rural setting. Depending on the needs of the person, IHAC offers a range of support models from semi-independent living to an accredited complex needs home to support those experiencing significant behavioral challenges that require intensive structured programming. |
